Hello

I use these a lot but they wear out so fast. These two were new an hour ago.

Where can I find more durable pads? Should a make them myself, and if so do you have tips on material and such?

Your using too much pressure. Sand with a coarser paper and work your way to the finer grits. A mouse sander is really intended for detail spots you can't get to with an orbital sander. You would be better off sanding the majority of it with an orbital sander. The top of that table I would sand it first with a belt sander and then sand it with an orbital.

Thank you Steve, I’m probably using too much pressure like you say. I use the ROS for larger surfaces but now I’m sanding in a tighter space.

I’ve tried using other sanding devices such as the 3M radial discs but the small sandpaper top for the multitool I posted earlier seems to work best.

SWMBO sanded the basement stairs with my Bosch ROS and trashed the velcro pad by overheating it from too much pressure and speed. The hooks got hot and unbent to the point they wouldn't grip the sand disks.
