I live less than 40 miles from the Grizzly Warehouse in Bellingham Wa, pretty fun facility to walk around in. I can save on shipping, that adds value to the current "sale". Being just a hobbyist, and watching so many Youtube reviews on the 0899, I'm very close to making this purchase.

Any hidden "oh crud" issues I should know of before I do this? Harvey is also on sale; Laguna is comparable but again I live so close to Grizzly it's hard to pass up.

A few years ago there was a topic of manufacturers boasting of H.P. and it was found the Amp. draw and the H P didn't match by a long margin . We seldom see AMPs listed on a item advertisement but H P is always mentioned . Ever wonder why ? I inquire about AMPs when purchasing .

??? If you don't believe what is printed in the manual, why would you believe what is printed on the tag? What makes you skeptical of the published specs, yet not skeptical of a tag which is printed with the specs? What makes the tag more or less truthful?

That’s a tough one to pass up, especially being that close to the warehouse. The G0899 is a solid saw for the money most owners are really happy with it. The main “gotchas” I’ve heard are just minor setup quirks (like getting the fence perfectly dialed in) and making sure the cast iron wings are flat. Otherwise, it’s a lot of saw for the price. If you can check one out in person, that’s a huge plus.
